Further details regarding this committee will be released ahead of CUIMUN XXVI in August 2020.
The now-suspended UN Trusteeship Council is one of the six primary organs of the United Nations. Mandated to oversee the management of the trust territories that emerged in the wake of the Second World War, the Council was responsible for defending the best interests of the inhabitants of the territories.
Although suspended since 1994, the Trusteeship Council was at one time one of the most powerful and controversial bodies in the UN. This committee will revisit those early years of the United Nations, as delegates are tasked with making difficult decisions that could have long term repercussions for volatile regions of the globe.
